The authority decides the format

DHA, SHA, MOHAP and DOH each run their own examination arrangements. Most are computer-based and delivered through approved testing centres; some senior titles are assessed through an oral or panel-based route instead of, or alongside, a written paper.

The title decides the content

The examination is scoped to the professional category you were assessed into, not to your specialty in general. A candidate assessed as a general practitioner sits a different paper from one assessed as a specialist in the same field. This is why the assessment outcome matters before any preparation begins.

Who is exempt

Exemption is possible in defined circumstances — qualifications or a current licence from a regulator the authority recognises for that purpose, or defined seniority thresholds. It is decided by the authority on the assessed file.
