Medical Fitness & Biometrics Support with PROXPAT
For UAE residence visa applications, official guidance states that applicants aged 18 and above must undergo a medical test to prove they are medically fit, pass applicable security checks, and apply for an Emirates ID card.
PROXPAT helps applicants, families, employers, investors, and company teams organise the required documents, understand the medical and biometrics sequence, coordinate appointment steps, and track post-appointment requirements until the file moves forward.
When Medical & Biometrics Services Are Needed
Medical fitness and biometrics steps are usually part of new residence visa, residence renewal, employment visa, investor visa, family sponsorship, long-term residence workflows, and new applications after UAE visa cancellation services. Requirements vary by age, visa type, emirate, application category, and authority process.

Important Medical & Biometrics Notes
- Medical fitness is required: UAE official guidance states that residence visa applicants aged 18 and above must undergo a medical test.
- Emirates ID is linked: Residence visa applicants must also apply for an Emirates ID through ICP.
- Biometrics may be required: Fingerprinting or biometric capture depends on application type, age, and authority instructions.
- Renewal timing matters: Medical, Emirates ID, and residence renewal steps should be managed before expiry to avoid delays or fines.
- Final processing is authority-based: PROXPAT coordinates the workflow, while medical results, biometrics acceptance, and final approvals remain with the relevant UAE authorities.

The Medical Test and Biometrics, Practically
Two appointments sit between an entry permit and a stamped residence visa. Neither is difficult, and both have validity windows that quietly govern the whole timeline.
The medical fitness test
Required for residence visa applicants above the age the authority specifies. It is a screening test carried out at an approved centre, and the certificate is issued for a defined validity period. Visa stamping must be completed within that window — if it closes, the test is repeated, at the applicant's cost.
Emirates ID biometrics
Fingerprints and a photograph captured at an authorised centre. This requires the applicant in person; nothing about it can be done remotely or by an agent. The card is issued once the visa is stamped.
Why the sequence matters
Both stages have to fall inside the entry permit's own validity. Booking them late in the permit period leaves no margin, and a missed slot can mean restarting part of the sequence rather than simply rebooking.
Where Applicants Lose Time
Booking too late in the permit window. The most common cause. Entry permits, medical certificates and biometric appointments each have their own clock, and they have to overlap.
Peak-period availability. Approved centres get busy, and a slot that would normally be available within days can be a week out. That matters when a job start date is fixed.
Documents not matching. The passport presented at the centre must match the application exactly. A renewed passport with a new number, presented against an application carrying the old one, stops the appointment at the desk.
Assuming a child needs a medical. Younger children are generally exempt, which is why a child's application costs less — but the applicable age is set by the health authority and differs between emirates, so it is worth confirming rather than assuming either way.
What we coordinate
Booking both appointments inside the permit window with margin, checking documents match before you travel to the centre, and tracking the certificate validity against the stamping date so nothing expires mid-process. This is part of the monthly PRO retainer for companies processing visas regularly.
Medical test requirements, exempt ages, certificate validity and fees are set by the relevant health authority and immigration authority and are revised from time to time.
